Recent psi(2S) Results from BES and Current Status

       Using 3.79 million psi(2S) events, we report branching
fractions of the psi(2S) into Vector Pseudoscalar Pseudoscalar states
containing omegas and phis, and baryon anti-baryon final states. The
PQCD 15% predictions for the ratios of psi(2S) to J/psi hadronic decay
branching fractions are tested. The strong OZI and DOZI violations
for psi(2S) decays involving omegas and phis are found to be much too
large to be explained by the naive omega/phi mixing model. The
deviations from expectations based on flavor-SU(3) symmetry in baryon
decays are presented.

        The cross sections for e^+ e^- -> hadrons, e^+ e^-, mu^+ mu^-,
and pi^+ pi^- J/psi have been measured in the vicinity of the psi(2S)
resonance, and preliminary measurements of the psi(2S) decay widths
will be presented.

     The current status of BES and future plans will be described.
